The Black and Blue Food Drive uses the friendly rivalry between Trinity and L.D. Bell high schools, along with their feeder junior high and elementary schools, to educate students, mobilize the community, and provide food and resources for local families.
Through food donations, financial gifts, student leadership, and community partnerships, the HEB community comes together to fight hunger and share Hope with neighbors in need.
Food insecurity affects more than what happens at home. Hunger can follow students into the classroom, making it harder to focus, engage, and learn.

By participating in the drive, students have a way to do more than collect food. It helps them learn about food insecurity, lead their peers, involve local partners, and become part of the solution.
As students take ownership of the program, they learn that caring for their community is not just a one-time event. It is a way to notice needs, take action, and make a lasting impact.
The Black and Blue Food Drive works because the community shows up together. Students lead, businesses join in, and families receive support through the generosity of people who care.

Financial gifts help provide food and resources for families facing food insecurity. During the official drive dates, monetary donations receive double points and donors may note the school campus they want their gift to support.
Your gift also helps extend the impact of the drive by allowing 6 Stones to respond to current food assistance needs and serve families well.

Shelf-stable food items help support local families. Food collection needs may change based on current needs, so please use the current suggested food list before shopping or hosting a collection.
Businesses, churches, civic groups, school organizations, and community groups can help fight hunger by hosting a food drive during the official campaign. Your collection can support the school campus of your choice while helping provide food and resources for local families through 6 Stones’ New Hope Center and community partners.

Once your food drive is complete, you can drop off your collected items at the 6 Stones during our open hours:
Monday – Thurday 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. – Noon
