Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) is a joint effort between 6 Stones, the cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and Grapevine, various businesses, nonprofit organizations, and churches to help homeowners who are struggling to make necessary exterior home repairs. By mobilizing community volunteers, we aim to strengthen, grow and revitalize our community one home and one family at a time.
Many homeowners in our community can’t afford necessary repairs, putting their homes and neighborhoods at risk.
By volunteering with CPR, you’ll join a supportive team to help restore homes and revitalize neighborhoods—no specific skills needed, there’s a place for everyone.
You’ll help build safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, experience the joy of making a real difference, and have fun along the way!

It’s a 6 Stones program in conjunction with the cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford and Grapevine. We bring volunteers together to work on the exterior of houses where the homeowner meets income qualifications, and one of the following qualifiers – 62 or older, veteran or the spouse of a veteran, disabled, handicapped or a single parent with minor children at home. This will be mostly scraping, painting, clean up and yard work. All of the skilled work will be done before the volunteers are on site.
We work on homes all year long, but most of them are at two big 2-day events that we call Blitzes. One is in April, and the other in October. We work on 20-25 homes each time.
Over the 2 days, approx 800 volunteers will work on homes. The pre-registered volunteers meet here at 6 Stones between 7:30 and 7:45am on each morning of the event. They check in, get a t-shirt (or wear a team shirt), eat breakfast and meet their team at the pole with their particular house number on it. The site captain will meet them at the pole, and give out the actual address of the home. After a short kick-off, people are released to go to their project. The site captain will oversee all of the work at the home. NOTE: No volunteers are allowed inside the homes, even if invited by the homeowner. Each site captain will locate the closest restroom for volunteers to use.
We feed all volunteers breakfast and lunch each day, and provide snacks and an ice chest with water at each location. If you would like to provide lunch for the volunteers at one or more homes, please contact Jessica Holmes at 817 868 7400 ext. 111. All food is donated, so unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any special food needs or requests.
Wear something you don’t mind getting dirt or paint on, and closed-toed shoes. Feel free to bring your own work gloves. We provide each volunteer with one t-shirt per event, and we encourage teams to wear their team shirt for easy identification in the pictures.
6 Stones provides all materials and supplies, although we can always use extra yard tools and ladders. NOTE: We do not permit volunteers to use a paint spray rig on any location without previous approval of the CPR team.
You will find out the actual street address of your project when you come to 6 Stones to check in that morning and meet your site captain.
Registration is online at: https://www.6stones.org/cpr-volunteer/. If you are bringing a group, please contact Jessica Holmes at [email protected] before registering, so she can assign your group to an appropriate home. People can also walk up and register at the event, but they might not get to work with their team if a house is over-full.
If you sign up for any of the options below, you will receive an email the week of the event with details.
Pre-work – This can be anything from power washing a home, to replacing rotted wood. Those things are done at the volunteer’s convenience. There are opportunities to serve in this capacity all year long. The person to contact for that is Lance Lamparter, our CPR Director. His email is [email protected]. Also, this is listed under “Skills” when a person is registering.
Post-work – This is any work not completed at the Blitz – usually finishing up painting, or may be something skilled that didn’t get done. Those things are done at the volunteer’s convenience. The person to contact for that is Lance Lamparter, our CPR Director. His email is [email protected].
CPR Warehouse – This is a team to work 1 to 6pm on the Saturday of a Blitz, receiving and sorting all of the supplies and materials that the site captains bring back.
Breakfast Pickup – Pick up coffee or breakfast items as assigned, between 7 and 7:15 am, and bring to 6 Stones breakfast area.
Event Set-Up – This is a 6:30 am arrival to help set up tables, chairs, tents, etc.

Registration – Volunteers come at 7 am and check people in, register walk-ups, or hand out t-shirts.
Pre-event (Thursday) – Volunteers come for a couple of hours in the morning to help us stage the materials and supplies for each house. This is the day before the event from 8:30-11am.
Providing or sponsoring lunches – One more area that is a huge help, is if some people would get together and provide lunch for the volunteers at one or more homes. This could be anything from buying pizza to actually cooking out on-site. This is another area for people to serve and should be coordinated with Jessica Holmes at 817-868-7400 Ext.111
