Night of Hope 2019: The Christmas Legacy
Our community may be young, but it has a storied history of love and compassion. That’s why, no matter where you go in the Mid-Cities, you’ll find people with spirited ties to their old schools. Men and women with a deep affection for the community that raised them. Citizens who all seem to agree that there’s something special about this place; and that we all have to do our part to keep it that way.
That’s why Margaret Cantrell, a professional photographer who lends her talent to 6 Stones from time to time, couldn’t resist the chance to photograph a Night of Hope party at her old elementary school. It’s the same strong connection that has sustained Leisl James as she serves the students of Midway Park; the same force that unites her school and the church with whom they share a border. It lives in the pride a mother takes in sharing that her children are enrolled at her alma mater.
No matter what obstacles we face together, you always respond with a passionate optimism. So it’s no surprise that some 1,811 volunteers came together last week to throw Christmas parties for every family we could find in need of help this Christmas. Your generous giving provided a full turkey dinner and gifts to 3,976 kids who wouldn’t have had one this year without your help.
There’s a powerful legacy of giving here in our community, one that can trace its roots back to the very first Christmas thousands of years ago. And we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

We can only serve families approved and registered through HEB ISD, and the window for this year’s program has closed. You can still come and see us in the New Hope Center, though! We’ll be happy to serve your family there.
