July 24 Kick-a-Thon Raising Funds for HEB Students
Christian Martial Arts is hosting a Kick-A-Thon at Campus West, 209 N. Industrial, Suite 190 in Bedford from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 to raise support for 6 Stones and HEB ISD Operation Back 2 School! Contact [email protected] or call 817-706-2893 to make a pledge. The kickers will be collecting pledges prior to the event.
Participants should plan to arrive about 9:45 a.m. to pair up kickers and counters. “The kicker goes at it on a heavy bag for 1 hour, racking up as many kicks as possible, and of any style. Then at 11 a.m., we will switch roles and the counters will become kickers. An alternative to kicking will be seeing how many times you can break one of the rebreakable boards in an hour. It’s a fun time, and snacks will be provided,” explained Richard Garner, Christian Martial Arts Lead Instructor. “Anyone can participate, so feel free to invite a friend!”
Christian Martial Arts Academy ministers to the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of HEB residents. Mr. Garner said, “Our style is American Taekwondo, though many self-defense techniques including Jiu-Jitsu and Hapkido have been incorporated to provide variety for the students who range in ages from 5 to 55 years old, and come in all shapes and sizes! Studies have shown that Martial Arts builds confidence and character, reduces stress and increases physical fitness. Come work out with us in an uplifting and encouraging environment!” For more details and class times, click here.
