Blackberries, green beans and pink flamingos.

Annette Lee and Linda Eilenfeldt – Star-Telegram/Max FaulknerSince Linda Eilenfeldt placed pink flamingos in her plot, the Bedford – 6 Stones Community Garden has been getting a lot of attention. Check out Sunday’s Star-Telegram article.

The grand opening and spring planting classes will be on March 17. And, the plots are filling up! Of the 77 plots, there are 2 – 4×8 plots and 22 – 4×12 plots available. All plots have been leased!

Earlier this month, fruit trees were planted on the perimeter of the garden. This Saturday, we will be adding blackberry bushes.

Huckabee Architects planned an 1,800-square-foot pavilion for the garden. What started as a need for a toolshed, has grown to include a gazebo pavilion, a storage shed and a trellis arbor, each about 600 square feet. This structure would cost about $80,000 if not for the corporate donations.

Making a donation to the garden pavilion:

  1. go to donate page
  2. choose other from the dropdown
  3. type garden pavilion in the comments box

Great when The Pavilion for garden is a stylish, spacious and well appointed retreat, set amongst the gracious gardens and rolling pastures
