Speeding to Help
Texas Motor Speedway’s Speeding To Help community outreach program, which enters its fourth year, will tackle volunteer projects ranging from assisting the homeless to renovating homes for those in need. Speeding To Help has designated programs with 6 Stones Mission Network Compassion Ministry and Community Powered Revitalization as initiatives where the Texas Motor Speedway staff, including president Eddie Gossage, will serve as volunteers on the respective special projects each week during August.
“This has been a tremendous program to allow our employees, including myself, to give back to our community,” Gossage said. “We have some strong initiatives planned ranging from revitalizing some homes to assisting the homeless and we’re ready to help in any manner needed.”
The fourth edition of Speeding To Help will begin Wednesday, Aug. 3, with the 6 Stones Mission Network in Bedford. Texas Motor Speedway, in partnership with Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter and Feed The Children, will provide food and supplies for 800 families in need. Texas Motor Speedway volunteers will distribute a 25-pound box of non-perishable food, 10-pound box of personal supplies and a box of Avon products to each of the families.
Speeding To Help will head to the Mid-Cities area on Tuesday, Aug. 9, to assist on the renovation of homes for those families who do not have the means to do so themselves. Texas Motor Speedway will partner with 6 Stones Community Powered Revitalization (CPR), a collaboration between the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford in addition to various businesses, non-profit organizations and churches working jointly to strengthen, grow and revitalize the Mid-Cities community one house and one family at a time. Texas Motor Speedway volunteers will assist in revitalizing a home in each of the three cities in a single day.
