Lunch Time Mentoring

Are you someone who could have lunch with a child at school approximately once every two weeks?  We are looking for 46 adults who can demonstrate consistent care and compassion as a mentor (during lunch) for this school year.

The Spring Garden Mentoring Program is a part of the Weekend Assistance Program, which provides backpacks of food to meet the nourishment needs for specifically identified children in the school. This program is being implemented with the full support of the principal at Spring Garden, Paul McCollum. As a mentor, you will meet regularly with your assigned child during lunch and be another significant adult in the child’s life.  All mentors will be required to pass all background checks as do all school volunteers. The purpose of this cooperative effort is to provide these children what they need in order to improve their school performance.  Email [email protected] to sign up.
