Bellaire Park Block Party

On the evening of Good Friday, 6 Stones Community Ministries had an amazing celebration with the residents of Hurst. Over 800 guests attended and 100 volunteers helped make this event possible. Volunteer partners included CityLife Church, St. Timothy CPC, First Baptist Church of Euless en Espanol, First Euless and the Crossroads Youth Group in partnership with First Baptist Church of Hurst. A special thank you goes to the city of Hurst who provided us with access to Bellaire Park and to the Hurst PD who were there in support.

This was our third annual Good Friday in the Park which took place right behind Bellaire Elementary on Pecan St. The event took place from 5 pm to 8 pm and included a live band from First Euless en Espanol, bounce houses, games with candy prizes, cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, chips, krispy treats, and beverages all free of charge. We also had an information tent about 6 Stones services, a prayer tent, and we distributed raffle tickets and prizes for both children and adults. For raffle prizes, children received Biblical action figures while adults received Bibles and ornate crosses.

The event was a huge success, and we ended up serving nearly 1200 hotdogs to the guests! The Bellaire area is dear to our heart. We in Community Ministries go to the park weekly to address the growing needs of that neighborhood. On Tuesday nights, we partner with First Baptist Church of Hurst to meet spiritual needs of the kids and teens. We consistently see over 100 kids and teens attending our groups each week in the park—25 more than the median church in the United States!

We want to draw special attention to the youth that we work with on a weekly basis. The Crossroads Youth Group meets every Tuesday night in Bellaire Park to study the Bible. These passionate teens, who live in Bellaire, came Friday night to serve food and drinks. This demonstrates the impact we are having on the lives of the youth in this area. The teens are beginning to pour their hearts back into their own community. They live as an example to all of those around them.
